Rofatop Magic is a high performance vapour permeable roof underlay supplied by Wanit Fulgurit from Germany, which can be used as an economic breather membrane. Rofatop Magic has a higher water vapour permeability than most other convectional types of roof underlay and will help to remove condensation from the building. Rofatop Magic is manufactured with 3 layers of waterproof polypropylene which gives increased strength, high impact and nail tear resistance. The inner layer is the functional breather membrane protected both sides with a quilt. The product is UV stable and is not affected by water based wood protection chemicals. |

| When laid correctly to BS5534: Part 1 1997; Code of practice for slating and tiling, Rofatop Magic will protect the inside of the building from the elements while awaiting the slates, tiles or sheeting to be fixed. Any rain or wind driven snow will roll down the upper surface of the underlay to the eaves gutter as will condensation from the underside of the roof. Rofatop Magic can be applied directly to new or existing insulation or sarking and sheathing boards as well as to open rafters. | Like all breather membranes Rofatop Magic will help to reduce moisture from the roof space. Most manufacturers of natural slates, fibre cement slates, clay tiles, concrete tiles and sheeting insist that eaves and terminal ventilation is required. Specifiers and users should check with the manufacturer, supplier of the roofing material for their requirements. By not using the manufacturer and suppliers recommendations the warranty of the roof covering may be affected. | ||||

BS 8000 'Workmanship on building sites' Part 6 1990 ' Code of Practice for slating & tiling of roofs and claddings' The Building Regulations 1991 Approved Document C4 'Resistance to weather and ground moisture' (1992 edition). Recommendations for the use of vapour permeable membranes in pitched roofs are set out in BS5250:1989, Code of Practice for the control of condensation in buildings. |
