Slate Information

Lousaval LV11

Lousaval LV11 is a smooth blue grey slate produced from the "A Fraguina" slate deposits. The original open air quarrying operation that was started in the 1960's underwent a radical transformation at the beginning of the 1990's when it was turned into an underground mine, so pioneering a mining system that enables optimum exploitation of the finest reserves that would otherwise have been beyond economical reach.

Lousaval LV11 slate has been used on many prestigious and domestic projects including the Kutna-Hora Cathedral in the Czech Republic and the Erlosekirche Church in Zwickau, Germany.
