Reclaimed Westmorland Green

Reclaimed Westmorland Green slate gives the end user the opportunity to create a roof with a completety traditional appearance to match and blend a new roof into it's surrounding environment rather the using a pristine new slate.

Due to the extensive lifespan of Westmorland Green slate, it is possible to reclaim and reuse slates from a redundant building that may already have been in service for several generations. The slates when sorted, graded, dressed and fixed correctly will provide many years of trouble free service.

Slate UK recommends that you consider using Reclaimed Westmorland Green slate when it is primarily the aesthetics of the building that you are considering, rather than looking for a cheaper alternative to using new slates.

In the majority of cases using one of our extensive range of imported slates, like Vermont Structural Unfading Green, Unfading Mottled, or Elterdale slate will provide a more economical and reliably performing roof rather than reclaimed slate. The higher labour costs and wastage factor associated with this type of reclaimed slate should be considered when making the decision on the choice of slate to be used.

Slate UK hold extensive stocks of Reclaimed Westmorland Green slate at it's distribution depots for immediate nationwide delivery. These stocks change on a daily basis in terms of available sizes and thicknesses. Please ring for an update on current available stocks.

As with all reclaimed building materials, we would recommend that viewing the slate is essential to ensure that it will be suitable for your requirements.
