Slate Information

Westmorland Green

Westmorland Green slate has been quarried in the English Lake District for more than 300 years.

These slates are formed from metamorphosed volcanic ash and contains chlorides which impart a beautiful green colour. The current company was formed in 1843 by consolidating several independent smaller operations into the world renowned company of today.

It is still owned by the descendants of the original Cavendish family. David Wallace International are extremely pleased to be able to offer this high quality slate from our UK distribution depots.
